Happy 12th Birthday AJ

We celebrated AJ's 12th birthday at the nursing home tonight. It was very sad because my dad wanted to come home so bad and followed us to the door. I had to leave because the kids had homework, I don't know yet how he did after we left : (

I'm glad you were able to celebrate together and I'm sorry your dad didn't get to follow you home. My heart feels for you, Lisa - you are a precious daughter.

Happy Birthday, AJ!

I think it is precious that you celebrate such special occassions at the nursing home with your dad. We visit nursing homes several times a month with our therapy dogs, and more often than not.. the folks we visit do not get many other visitors. I can only imagine how much it means to him to be included!

Happy Birthday to AJ! Oh Lisa, how kind of you all to celebrate in the nursing home so your dad would be included in the celebration. Nursing homes can be kind of depressing, especially for children but you're teaching your kids so much by your marvelous attitude. I wish more people in nursing homes had families like yours! You guys are probably a bright spot for many who are there.
