Progress Report

Today, my sister, Joel and I went to have breakfast with my dad. He is doing so well getting rehabilitated so that he can have his aortic valve replaced. He has physical and occupational therapy each day and he gets three delicious square meals a day plus snacks. The staff is so friendly and helpful, I am just so thankful for God's direction in getting him in there and the help he is getting he would not have been able to get at home even with a visiting nurse.

My mom is still in the hospital and is having another paracentesis to remove more fluid from her abdomen. I was at work yesterday and the doctor that did her paracentesis also works at my hospital so when he came to work he let me know how things went. He was able to remove 2 liters of fluid and will be removing more today or tomorrow. She has a new liver specialist and we are very happy with him. Praise God for that favor.

I can also add another rung in my ladder for my 2009 organization resolution.......yah me! I went with my sister to Home Depot to purchase shelves for my laundry room. The shelves fit very nicely behind the hot water tank and will serve the purpose of holding clean folded clothes until the kids are able to put them away. This has cut down on piles of clean clothes sitting on the dryer waiting to be folded. It also frees up laundry baskets that can hold clothes needing to be washed instead of leaving them on a pile on the floor in the laundry room. It is so nice to see my laundry room floor....aahhhhhh!

I'm so glad to read that your parents appear to be stable now. I'm sure your mom will feel relieved to have that much fluid removed. And your dad looks pretty good. Hang in there Lisa. Your blogging friends are praying for you.
